The Process (What makes it so valuable):
I start all of my pieces from a solid piece of wood or a characteristic plywood. For most pieces, I try to select wood that has character like lines, knots etc. This is what makes each piece unique. Then, I draw a traced image of the final piece. I hand cut that trace, which is sometimes challenging given the intricacy of some of the designs. Once cut, I sand each piece until it is ready to take stain or paint. I apply the stain in multiple sessions to reach the best color. For the distressed items, I use a special process for making the shabby chic look. The final stage is a multiple step process to clear coat the stained pieces which makes the beautiful gloss finish.
It does take time to make each piece but in the end, it is worth selling a quality product that can be enjoyed for years to come. If you have anything that you would like made, please let me know and I can give you options and quote a price....no obligations.
