Welcome to Rock Frock -- For the Rock n' Roll in YOU! I'm Suzanne aka Punk Glam Queen and I'll be your tour guide through the fabulous journey of vintage!
*We've recently undergone a re-branding to reflect our aesthetic more suitably as you'll find noted below. We think these changes help you to not only understand us and our aesthetic but help to make it crystal clear who and what we stand for, not to mention help you find the best vintage around!
Music is what gave me my independence and the freedom to play with style fearlessly. I learned how to be myself and always be true, usually rebelling in the name of righteous indignation! Because music has always been such a big part of my life -- especially when it came to style -- I felt the integration of music into my shop suited us perfectly!
I was lucky to come into my own -- style-wise -- during a very exciting period of time in music; the late 70s punk scene. As one of the original CBGB punks I was also one of the very last to walk out their doors on that sad night. I worked in popular nightclubs at the time, as well as trendy East Village boutiques. So I got to meet and become friends with many musicians on the scene at the time -- I made my dream come true of being constantly surrounded by creativity, selling to and styling bands, and eventually designing for them.
Something important to note is that NY at that time wasn't flush with cash and pretty much everyone was broke, so vintage was a way we could inexpensively make ourselves stand out from the crowd, often embellishing or redesigning a vintage piece to make something truly unique.
After over 30 years of wearing, collecting, and selling vintage it's now become "hot". As I'm also a professional published author, writer, blogger, and ghost writer I wouldn't be worth my salt if I gave up my secrets, so let's just say that what you'll find in Rock Frock are clothing and accessories worn by rock n' rollers either on stage or in everyday life, along with what every rock n' roller at heart wants to wear. We also love to carry fun items that we used at the time to create unique looks; things like vintage patterns and crafting books. To us, it's ALL rock n' roll!
With each order you get something "lagniappe". This is a traditional southern custom where (loosely translated) a shop keeper throws in a "little something extra for nothing". I've always loved the custom (as I love many southern voodoo and hoodoo customs), so you'll see always find a little something extra in every order from Rock Frock in appreciation of your patronage.
All of my items come to you ready to use. They have been washed and dried (dry cleaned if this method is recommended), disinfected, and conditioned (with items such as shoes & leather). I hold myself to the highest of standards, and will never intentionally mislead you when saying an item is vintage or antique when its actually retro-inspired. I do my best to list items as truthfully as possible, however I *am* human and do occasionally make mistakes. I've always been known for my excellent customer service, and if you ever experience any type of problem, please let me know so I can rectify the problem immediately. I have 100% feedback on both eBay accounts I have done business through them for over 13 years -- punkglamqueen and morganaschamber -- and have made sure to keep my accounts in good standing as both a buyer and seller. I've been on etsy for a few years, and I feel I've learned quite a bit in that time although I have also owned flea market businesses as well as a brick and mortar shop. It's our utmost goal to make the customer happy!
