Frequently asked questions
What is the turnaround time on my order?
If you have purchased a listing that indicates that the item is "ready to ship", then we will have it packaged and shipped within two business days.
If you have purchased a made-to-order item (which is indicated in the listing item overview box in the upper right hand corner of the listing page) turnaround is currently 2 - 3 weeks. Turnaround times can change depending on the level of demand, and are set to include additional time necessary to deal with any issues that might arise during the firings. We ALWAYS strive to ship earlier than scheduled, and If both fires go without issue, we absolutely do so :)
What is the Creation Process?
All of our made-to-order items are made from wet clay. They are thrown on the wheel or hand rolled, cut, impressed, shaped and then dried thoroughly. Once dry, holes are drilled and edges are sanded and cleaned. Next they are fired, which is a 24 hour process from ramp up to cool down. Once complete, the pieces are then painted, glazed, and then fired again. Each firing requires that we have a minimum of 70- 80 pieces in order to avoid wasting energy by firing a less-than-full kiln. If all goes without issue, then we can ship a bit early. But if not, then we will use the remaining turnaround time to address any issues.
Returns/Exchanges
If you have ordered a customized item and we have made an error on that order, send a photo within 3 days of delivery and we will replace the item or refund the price of the item (exclusive of shipping).
If you have purchased an item which can be put back into inventory we are happy to process an exchange/refund. In such a case, shipping expense is the responsibility of the buyer.
Paypal charges a $.30 fee on refunds. If a refund is requested within 24 hours of purchase AND that refund is needed through no fault of our own, this fee will be passed on to the client.
Non-Delivery Claims
All items are shipped USPS and tracking numbers are provided when the postage is generated. Please understand that once an item is confirmed delivered, non-delivery claims will not be accepted. If your residence is a multi-unit building please consider using an alternative mailing address to avoid your package being delivered to the incorrect box. Of course, items for which the USPS fails to confirm delivery will be replaced at our expense.
Customs / VAT Taxes

Return of Non-Personalized Items
Say Your Piece! is happy to accept returns of non-customized/personalized items. Contact us within 5 days of delivery of the item and ship within 14 days of delivery. Unless the item is being returned as a result of an error on our part, client is responsible for return shipping (with tracking). Refund will be processed upon receipt of the item.
Incorrect Personalization Instructions Provided by Client
In the event that you provide incorrect personalization details for your item and we are contacted AFTER the piece has been made, we will create a new one for you with the correct details for HALF the price of the original item. Please note that in some instances, the need for a remake will impact the original promised ship date. If you notify Say Your Piece! of the error BEFORE the item has been made, we are happy to make the correction to your order and proceed as normal.
