For your peace of mind, all our merchandise comes with an official Certificate of Authenticity including Retail/Insurance Replacement Value, and great customer service. We happily accept e-checks and credit cards through Paypal. We also accept Etsy gift cards and all major credit cards through Etsy's "Direct Checkout" system. We never see your credit card information, and your payments are completely secure. WA State shipments add 9.9% sales tax.
*LAYAWAY & TIME-PAYMENT PLANS*
Layaway plans are available! Just message us. At SFJ, we don't charge any interest or even any monthly payment fees for this service! We are happy to work with you for layaway plans of 30, 60, 90, or 120 days, or longer, depending on your needs. Our goal is to be as flexible as possible with your payments to assist you in achieving your jewelry dreams. Just contact us about the item(s) you'd like to buy to make layaway arrangements with us.
*HOW DOES LAYAWAY WORK?*
Step 1: Contact SFJ (us) and let us know you are interested in purchasing with layaway. We can put your desired item(s) on 48-hour courtesy "Reserved" for you.
Step 2: You and SFJ will both agree to layaway terms in writing, via Etsy messaging/Convo system.
Step 2: SFJ will then convert the original item listing to a " Layaway Deposit" listing for you to purchase within a certain period of time. After you purchase the "Deposit/Reserved" listing and SFJ also receives cleared Deposit payment, your "Reserved" item will then become an officially "Held" on layaway for you, and your purchase of that first link constitues your full understanding and agreement of all our store policies herein.
Step 3: Each following month, your agreed-upon monthly payments will simply be listed in our shop as "items" reserved a week ahead of their due date, for your purchase only. Please note: Layaway payments must be purchased and paid for per the buyer/seller pre-agreed schedule.
Step 4: The final payment will have the shipping charges added to it. After your final payment has cleared, you will then receive your item promptly.
Here's a SAMPLE, 4-Month Layaway Plan:
Ring Price: $1,000
1st Month/Downpayment: $300 (30% Down to Start Layaway)
[Remaining Balance; $700 paid over next 3 months.]
2nd Month's Payment: $233.33
3rd Month's Payment: $233.33
4th/Final Month's Payment $233.33 + Shipping

*LAYAWAY PLAN RETURNS*
Please note that because we are holding the merchandise for an extended period of time during a layaway agreement, during which other customers could have purchased it outright, there is a 30% non-refundable restocking fee for any returned layaway merchandise. But if you are dissatisfied with your layaway merchandise when you receive it, you may still return it: however, your refund will be issued according to the terms of our 7-day refund policy listed below under "Refunds," and also less your 30% Layaway restocking fee.
All payments must be paid on time, per the pre-agreed schedule (i.e. a "March 15th" scheduled payment must be received on or before March 15th., etc.). Only 24 hours grace will be given on layaway payments (i.e. if a scheduled "March 15th" payment is not received/cleared by the 24-hour-grace period of March 16th, that constitutes "in Default.") Upon Default, the layaway agreement automatically terminates. (i.e. with an unpaid "March 15th" payment, a layaway agreement automatically terminates at 12:01 am on March 17th.) In case of default (missed-payments), no refunds will be issued, and no merchandise will be shipped, and your item will be re-listed to the general community. Bottom line: please don't default on a layaway agreement. Instead, make sure to choose a layaway plan you can easily stick to, and then stick to it. Then everybody will be happy.
We ship fast! Purchased items are usually shipped within 1-2 business days of cleared payment being received. A confirmation message with a tracking number will be sent to buyer upon shipment.
Unless otherwise noted, or other arrangements are made with us ahead of purchase, all items are shipped via 2-3 day USPS Priority or First Class Mail, with delivery confirmation and insurance.
We are happy to ship internationally, but by purchasing from SFJ all buyers automatically agree that all international shipments are shipped solely at the buyer's risk. International shipments are not trackable, insurable, or traceable unless buyer pays for USPS/Fedex Global Express Guaranteed Delivery service, which is not available in all countries, and is still solely at the buyers' risk and buyer is to make any delivery or insurance claims with the carrier directly for any delivery issues. Cost for USPS/Fedex Global Express Guaranteed Delivery service ranges from $65-$190 and up, so message us for a quote to your country. All international buyers automatically agree that purchase and shipment is solely at their own risk, and agree that SFJ (Seattle Fine Jewels) is not responsible for shipments that are lost, undelivered, damaged, stolen, etc. All international customs duties and VAT are buyer's responsibility, if applicable.
Refunds and Exchanges
7-DAY SATISFACTION GUARANTEE!
You can feel confident in the quality of genuine-ness of our all products, and we want you to be happy with your purchases. You may keep your merchandise and examine it for a full 7 calendar days after you receive it. If you are not satisfied, you may may notify us that you are going to return your merchandise by 5pm Pacific Time on the 7th day after your merchandise was received. You will then receive a pre-authorization to return, and instructions.
RETURNS ARE SIMPLE:
Contact us within 7 days of receiving merchandise (date of package delivery counts as day 1) by 5pm Pacific Time to receive a pre-authorization to return, and instructions. All returned items must be unaltered, and in the same condition as when Seattle Fine Jewels sent them. Buyer pays return shipping, and insurance.
Please note: Returned merchandise is buyer's sole responsibility until it is safely delivered back to SFJ/Seattle Fine Jewels in acceptable condition, so buyer should purchase return shipment insurance for their protection. Seattle Fine Jewels cannot be responsible for loss, damage, etc. of customers' return shipments.
RETURNED MERCHANDISE ANTI-FRAUD PROTECTION
Before being listed for sale, all our items are tested with expensive equipment to verify gemstone and precious metal authenticity. Likewise, any returned items must be thoroughly re-tested to assure that they have not been altered in any way. If any alterations or substitutions are detected in returned items, no refund will be issued and buyer will have to pay new shipping charges if they want their altered item shipped back to them. This policy protect both Seattle Fine Jewels and also our customers from fraud.
No refunds will be issued UNTIL pre-return-authorized merchandise is received back by Seattle Fine Jewels, postage pre-paid, and is verified and tested to be in identical original condition. After receipt and verification, refunds will be given through the payment method originally used to purchase the item, less original shipping costs, and also less a restocking fee of either 10% or $100-- whichever is less-- to cover merchandise re-testing and cleaning. Please return all boxes and certificates since missing Certificates of Authenticity will incur an additional $15 charge each, and missing jewelry boxes will incur an additional $10 charge each. Please allow 2-5 business days for processing of returns/refunds after merchandise is received back by SFJ. You will receive a refund confirmation after processing is complete, and your refund is issued.

Custom-made and/or custom re-sized items are final sale only. Sorry no returns or refunds on those items.

In some cases, items are subject to prior sale--though we update our inventory frequently.
All gemstones that we carry are natural, earth-mined stones unless otherwise stated. Some gemstones may have various stated or unstated treatments. All photography is done in such a manner as to capture the true colors and details as closely as possible. Colors and details may vary depending on your computer monitor.
Unless otherwise stated, each vintage piece is pre-owned, so some wear is to be expected. Item conditions are described as best as possible in individual listings.
Like all jewelers, Seattle FIne Jewels is not an independent, certified gemologist. Only independent certified gemologists are independent certified gemologists, and they do not sell jewelry. Seattle fine jewels grades and certifies all our jewelry based on several factors: years of experience and industry colleagues; expensive, highly accurate electronic devices that electronically identify gemstones based on their conductivity and hardness with precision; and chemical testing and electronic devices that identify and measure exact carat weight and solidness of gold. We sell only genuine, natural gemstones. We also sell only genuine Solid Gold, Platinum, and Silver (Solid, not plated/filled unless otherwise specified in the individual listing).
*CERTIFICATIONS of AUTHENTICITY
We guarantee our descriptions to be accurate, and put it in writing in our Certificate of Authenticity. Other than carat weight measured on a scale, jewelry appraisal is not an exact science, but is a human opinion that can vary between individuals. Thus, appraisals may vary from 1-3 degrees in color grade and clarity grade of gemstones, and by 10-30% in valuation, as is the norm. But if your local appraiser finds any jewelry you purchase from us to have been grossly misrepresented, meaning by more than the variables stated above, then you may return it to us within 7 days for a full refund.
