In 2011, I started photographing dogs at local animals rescues, and in 2012 I produced my first calendar, in support of spay and neuter education. The images from the calendar were different than anything I had ever photographed before. They featured elegant shelter dogs on bold and brilliant backgrounds. After a decade of photographing many subjects, especially nature and wildlife, I had found my "voice" as photographer, and I couldn't be silenced. I was obsessed with showing the public how seemingly ordinary shelter dogs, were anything but ordinary. Each dog, when bathed and photographed on an elegantly-designed set, became an example of how a rescue dog could transition into a home setting. From here, the See Spot Pose brand was born, and I began to sell greeting cards, fine art prints, and calendars in local shops in the Ventura, California area.

In 2014, I became interested in sewing glamorous, yet practical accessories for canines. Along with bow ties, neck ties, collar flowers, and vintage chokers, I also offer a vest harness (the Royal Harness) that is completely customizable, from the interior lining, to the exterior canvas, to the applique design on the outside. The harness can also be created with an exterior zipper pocket that will hold cash, credit cards, a key ring, and even a mobile phone! Organic and/or environmentally-friendly fabrics are used wherever possible, and all items can be weatherproofed with natural beeswax, upon request.

A portion of the proceeds from every purchase in the See Spot Pose shop is donated to support canine rescue and adoption, and most items in the shop are modeled by adoptable dogs, looking for their forever homes.
