This year promises to be an exciting one with another new line of Wedding Ruffs and Neckpieces, Bridal Couture, Springwear and Wirework Jewellery all in our own Original and Romantic Style.

Our main focus for inspiration for the new year will be Pre Raphaelite with more freesize garments and mixed media apparel.

Shalotte is an independant couture fashion business set in the heart of the Oxfordshire countryside.
Famous for being the home of Alice in Wonderland and the Pre Raphealites the beautiful countryside and historicaly classical building provide many inspirations for the the two sisters who run Shalotte as full time designer/makers.

"For us the time spent creating is a labour of love. All items are made by hand and as so are human creations. We love texture, colour, the beauty of a single stitch in cloth and the sparkle of a single glass bead."

We know that everything has a story, from a jumper knitted out of hand spun yarn swapped for a fleece, vintage pearls and salvaged lace, couture fabric patchwork pieces, rescued beads from broken jewellery and roses out of fabric from a costume designer at the Old Vic Theatre.

We don't just recycle either. We also use things like state of the art silk and steel Japanese art yarn, handpainted glass beads and eco friendly silk and cotton .

We believe that what you buy should be a personal choice, that you should be able to not only take home a purchase but to be able, whilst shopping, to discover something about the designer, the creative process and the story behind what you have in your shopping bag.

Everything is the work of the individual artist. We work without kits, patterns or recipes so that everything we do is unique and unrepeated.
