I make small, luxury Shirret 'magic carpets' and UK teapot cozies, from wool cut-up clothes, one-by-one, riding public transport between Brooklyn NY & New Haven CT. I am The curator and Source for all information and supplies on shirret.com. I'm an artist worker climate change activist, US-UK. I collect, sort colors and cut strips out of clean old clothes, and native US UK sheep-wool sewing scraps. Shirret was developed by my gran & mom since 1930 in the midwest. They gave it a pretty name 'shirret' in 1968, and they showed their wool, cotton and silk shirret rugs in New England & Connecticut.
