I was a child of the eighties and always had a flair for glam, but never the money to back up the excitement of excess. Fortunately, my many collections were fueled by a savvy thrift shop mom. Then, over 10 years ago, I began belly dancing and couldn't afford to buy costumes and jewelery. About the same time, I also became an active member of the SCA ( An anachronistic medieval society ) So i picked up my moms old brother sewing machine and taught myself how to sew. I made a simple burlap tunic for a friend, which I traded for a chainmaille coin belt that he had made. It was my first opportunity to really express my creativity in a tactile form- recon- armed with pliers. Pliers are a girls best friend.
I have many more hobbies, such as writing, and am currently working on my second book. Still, I love history, and making it come to life- with my own personalized touch. <3
