SquidWhale Designs is a textile and accessory design
company by Elizabeth J. McTear, established in 2010 in
Philadelphia. Elizabeth earned her degree in Textile
Design from Moore College of Art & Design in
Philadelphia. She operates a studio in South Philly, where
she maintains a natural indigo dye bath, sews, block
prints, screen prints and digitally designs fabrics for her
handmade items. Additionally, she hunts down and
collects vintage and antique textiles that are carefully
curated into her collection accenting her work with
vintage brass hardware and weathered bits of rope and
leather. She strives to create beautiful and lasting items
for men, women and the home that adhere to a standard
of excellence in craftsmanship while aiming to be as
eco-friendly as possible.
