My name is Erica and I am the designer, craftsmaiden, photographer & hand behind the hammer. I am a free-spirited soul descended from the mighty Nordic "Viking" kings. For the most part, my work is inspired by my heritage, my historical studies and by the natural world...sometimes I delve into styles from or inspired by other cultures as I study them or if it's custom requested by a client. I am somewhat of an historian, and genealogist. I collect & study ancient artifacts & read like a fiend. (Basically I'm just a big ol' nerd.) As I grow in knowledge of my own heritage, so does my style...if that makes sense. Sometimes I will recreate ancient pieces or incorporate design elements inspired from ancient Celtic or Nordic artifacts. The runes and runic symbols used in my work are not intended to be Esoteric or "magical" in nature, but instead historical, factual symbols that represent my heritage.

I am not a professional jeweler; I am a self-taught metal artist that creates jewelry. My style is rustic & perfectly imperfect. My jewelry represents a fusion of the material world (the physical materials / visual inspirations) and my spiritual or energetically expressive contributions. I am inspired visually by God's creation & awe in wonder at the smallest details. Spiritually I am inspired by the word, works and wonders of God. I incorporate a lot of nature-inspired themes & earthy, rustic textures in my work. I have no formal training in metalsmithing. Everything I learn is through personal trial & error & divine inspiration. I limit my use of power tools to a small rotary polisher & choose instead to employ ancient, primitive crafting and finishing techniques which lend an organic artifact; or "modern relic" vibe to my finished artworks.

The stones, metals & materials used in my work are thoughtfully and ethically curated and sourced for their aesthetics, quality and sometimes rarity. My metalwork is personally hand fabricated with love, intent and the highest attention to craftsmanship and details.

If you're shopping for unique wedding or engagement rings, one-of-a-kind gemstone jewelry, modern bohemian or minimalist earrings or necklaces, forged Viking metalwork or primitive, distressed leather bracelets and cuffs; you'll find it all here. I also craft rustic home decor, bar ware & utilitarian items as well as fancy things such as tags and memorials for beloved pets. If you can dream it I can likely make it!

CUSTOM & PERSONALIZED REQUESTS ARE ALWAYS WELCOME!

I love working with my clients to create the perfect piece of jewelry or special keepsake for any occasion. I give every order the highest attention to detail and caring, offer quick turn around and gift package each treasure with love.

I have a vast array of gems and materials in my collection so turn around time for custom creations is usually very quick once a design has been agreed upon. I also accept commissions for customer supplied materials or stones that you'd like transformed into something updated or wearable. I provide design options and sketches when necessary and photos of the finished custom designs before they ship. Production time for most custom work is about 14 business days. Please note, custom items do not qualify for return.

ABOUT RUNES & THEIR ROLE IN MY WORK:

There are two Norse runic alphabets and one 33 character Anglo Saxon runic futhorc. The Younger Futhark (16 character; younger revised system) and Elder Futhark (24 character older proto-Germanic system) are the oldest of the three. The runes I use are from the Elder Futhark alphabet which is the oldest version. The given meanings are based on information and explanations from the medieval Rune Poems and Poetic Edda. While scholarly knowledge isn’t extensive enough to give a detailed explanation as to which meanings were authentic to the Viking culture we do have basic knowledge as given to us by the Rune Poems, caskets, gravestone markings. Vikings did not write manuscripts. They believed as their Germanic ancestors did, that the spoken word had great power. Most of their traditions, beliefs and lore were passed down verbally. They did carve runes into art and possessions as a way to mark them; generally with their name. " _____ owns this" or "____ was here" kinda thing.

Any other meanings modernly attached to runes, especially by Esoteric communities, are entirely conjecture and speculation; are modern, associated with witchcraft and are not factual to history. Because I am a purist and believe in truth and finding truths I stick to sharing scholarly knowledge that can be proven by historical data and not new age belief systems. Not to say a person or group can't attach their own meanings to a symbol and that be their interpretation, instead I am saying that as a Viking descendant, I am concerned strictly with scholarly truth & knowledge and educating others with known historical fact without esoteric speculation concerning the beliefs of my long distant people. Norse peoples did attach magical and philosophical meanings to runes. We know this from the Eddas but not to the extent those that use them today in their magical crafts and new age religions give. Any meanings and symbolism I provide are the true, ancient Runic meanings as we understand from the facts and evidence the scholarly community has and not from sources that lean on modern conjecture.

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

Most anything in my shop can be customized or personalized. I also welcome custom orders and love working with my customers to create the perfect gift or special piece of jewelry. If you can dream it, I can probably make it! Convo me for details. Please note, "custom" refers to anything that's made in a special size or with special attributes requested by the customer. Custom items are not eligible for return or exchange.

Sizing details

If you see a design in my shop that isn't your size convo me and I'll do my best to accommodate your needs. Buyer is responsible for providing correct ring sizes for custom merchandise orders. Keep in mind that thicker or wider bands or rings could require the wearer to wear a larger size than usual. I recommend stopping by a local jewelry store to get sized. It only takes a few minutes, is free of charge and will ensure you get the perfect fit! No worries if you order the wrong size. I offer resizing for most rings without set stones for a flat rate of $25 plus return shipping. Orders with set stones are excluded from resizing. Some metalwork designs cannot be resized due to the nature of their design. Message me with any questions!

Care instructions

Chemical cleansers are not recommended. To clean bare metals use a polishing cloth or organic ketchup to restore shine.

Applied patinas on jewelry are not permanent and will change and evolve with wear and surface contact. Keep your jewelry out of contact with water, lotions and cleaning chemicals to protect patinas. I recommend removing patinated jewelry before washing hands, bathing or strenuous activity where sweat will react with patinas.

Copper & patina jewelry should NOT be worn during heavy physical activity (work out, swimming, yard work, etc) to prevent harmless skin oxidation and to help retain patina. Keeping skin dry is key to prevention. If skin oxidation does occur, simply wash the area with soapy water.

Gift wrapping and packaging

My jewelry boxes are made in the United States of post consumer recycled paper. I carve my own stamps and personally apply the design to every box so that each is a work of art in itself!

If you have a particular color scheme to match please contact me for options. I love creative packaging and enjoy making the outside of the box as pretty as the contents inside.

Wholesale availability

As an artist and designer I take great pride in offering unique, one-of-a-kind jewelry that's made special for the individual ordering. For these reasons I do not offer wholesale or mass produce my work.

Skin Oxidation

Copper and alloys such as brass and bronze can leave oxidation on the skin. This is not indicative of poor quality, but is instead natural and to be expected. This is caused by a chemical reaction between the skin, elements air and water and the metal alloy. This is a harmless reaction and usually occurs if the jewelry is worn too tightly, if the wearer is sweating or if hands are not dried thoroughly after washing. Oxidation can be washed off with soap and water. Copper and copper alloy jewelry has been used since the advent of metallurgy.

What is a stock item? Are all stock items ready to ship?

Most everything in my shop is made to order. That means when you order it, it goes into the queue and I make it and ship it. "Stock" means that I am carrying that item for sale. An item that is "in stock" has a production time unless it is already made & ready to ship. Check each listing and if you have questions, please ask BEFORE ordering. Production times for stock items can vary. 5-7 day production for earrings & for other complicated made-to-order stock items the production time is 14 business days. If you are working against a deadline, please notify me before ordering to make sure that I can accommodate your request. Sometimes production can be expedited. Sometimes only shipping can be expedited.

What items are not eligible for exchange or return?

Personalized or custom requests including items that are size-specific are not eligible for return or exchange. This includes cuffs / bracelets made to your specific size or finger rings & bands. Some style rings can be resized for $25 plus shipping.

Items sold on sale including free shipping promotions are not eligible for return or exchange.

Body jewelry including earrings & hair accessories are not eligible for return or exchange due to sanitary reasons.

Items that were altered per the customer's request cannot be returned or exchanged. This includes customizations

Items that are eligible for return are no longer eligible after 7 days of delivery.
