The name, Sugarberry, comes from a tree that grows in Louisiana. This tree is able to stand strong against weather and termites while remaining beautiful. Isn't the idea of being able to remain strong and also beautiful inspiring? I found this tree at a moment that I wanted to capture. I was on a nature walk with my husband - our first date post-deployment. He was encouraging me to choose a business name while I focused on the tree. And the name was adopted.

Life has been an adventurous journey, one in which I try to be a continuous learner. I am a military wife and mother to two teenagers and two rescue dogs. My husband is my greatest encourager - especially when it comes to photography. I had many great experiences while doing photography, but I paused after graduating with a Master’s degree in Human Resources. In 2020, my family started a new chapter with a move to Lafayette, Louisiana. Once settled, life circled back to photography.

I seek to capture places that have a story, whether historical or personal. I like brilliant colors but also strong black and white photographs. Most of my pieces are printed on metallic photographic paper that has a lasting impact. Additionally, I have started adding a watercolor process to some photos. Those pieces are printed on Giclee that provides a texture to the print.
