This last year has been a difficult one for me. I started having some strange physical symptoms last summer {August 2011}. For the first few months I thought I had re-injured my back and the neurological symptoms I was experiencing were due to that. However, as time went on, I realized that it was something more significant. My mobility, strength, & balance continued to progressively get worse to the point I had a difficult time taking care of myself and my home.
I eventually sought out my physician who immediately referred me to a Neurologist. I started having MRI after MRI, & test after test. Eventually, after many months, the tests led my Neurologist to a diagnosis of (possible) Mulptiple Scerosis.
During this time I was not able to work as a Registered Nurse, and I was home all day, every day, day after day. The idleness, the monotony, and the stress of the situation was unbearable. I started to get involved in reading home improvement and home decor blogs as a way to pass the time. These blogs inspired me to renew my artistic interests.
This shop was born as I started to visit thrift shops {with my limited disability budget!} and finding cute, vintage pieces I knew I could update and modernize. I decided to name the shop after my maternal great-grandmother Macedonia Cenatiempo. She was huge, influential part of my life. She always supported me and encouraged me to follow my dreams.
Being able to paint, especially during the most stressful times, literally saved my sanity. It helped to quiet my mind and sooth my soul.
I appreciate all the support and love I have received from my family, friends and customers!! You guys are special and are also a big part of my recovery. Thank you!!
Sincerely,
Christine Elizabeth R.
