~~ Where has the Psychedelic Panther gone? No worries, the panther has merely shed her old moniker for a more fitting title! After mulling over the possibilities I decided not to sway too far from my established shop name (I've been using The Psychedelic Panther for 6 years now!) However to avoid images of hippies, drugs, and the late sixties I knew it was finally time to tweak the name a bit to suit the shop's vibe. ~~

The Curious Panther is an eclectic and sometimes eccentric menagerie of art and oddities. My work is heavily inspired by the turn of the century and victoriana. I aspire to create art that evokes a sense of wonder in people; things pleasing to the curious mind, made with care so that they can be treasured for a lifetime.
We are very interested in designing displays for Natural History museums.

About the furs and natural materials I use:

Anytime someone is working with furs they run into questions about ethics and legality.
All of the furs I use are taxidermy scraps or ancient pieces from old rugs or coats that were damaged and needed re-purposing.
I don't hunt any of these animals or condone the behavior of the fur industry. I have no qualms with taxidermy and I respect and admire it as an age old art form.
I believe we have a duty to the world around us to leave as little of a foot print as possible. I also believe strongly in recycling and using all of the animal. These scraps would have ended up as trash but now they live on and can be appreciated.
