Greetings,
My name is Cyndi and I am an herbaholic! There it is – I've said it. It is more true today than it was eons ago when I was a child munching on various weeds. This is my story:
If the weather was nice, I was outside, more often than not, barefooted And if it was green, I probably tasted it. Grass, small weeds, tall weeds, flowers (my grandmother would have scolded me had she known I was eating her flowers). I even once took a tiny taste of an elephant ear plant. Once. That's all it took. It made my tongue feel somewhat furry.
As time went on, I gave in to the pressure of finding a job, getting married, and later on having children. My love for nature and all things green never waned. I did, however, leave my love for plants on the ground at our small Kentucky home place in order to pursue a normal life.
All things happen for a reason and always right on time for us. I do believe that. Through marriage and kids and that normal life, I learned to love culinary herbs. I experimented with herbs and spices and foods! My children can tell you that it worked out well sometimes – sometimes not so much.
One thing led to another as it so often does. I became interested in the medicinal properties of herbs. As a matter of course, my children got the benefit of every thing I learned about herbs medicinally as well as culinary. Bless their hearts! They are troopers!
Later on in life, a grandmother by now, I begin following the path of Wicca. Now it all made sense. My extreme love for nature in my early childhood has come full circle now. With my study and practice of Wicca, I have learned many things about the metaphysical properties of herbs.
Kind of a 3 for 1 thing, I suppose. Herbs and their medicinal, metaphysical, and culinary properties. This is my passion!
By the way, my children did grow up healthy, whole, and into beautiful human beings. I have also learned that not every green thing is worthy of being tasted. Hopefully, I will share enough information here and on my blog so that you will have knowledge to use herbs wisely.
