Her: Artist, educator, traveler, dancer.
Mom: 4 feet 8 inches. Has an opinion. Ballroom dancer, oil painter.


When she decided that she would sell her art here on Etsy, he had other plans for her. He asked her to help him sell his vintage items since he is not very good with the computer. She agreed and started by picking out a name for the shop. He was no help. After suggesting name after name, after name, after name, she stood in the middle of the room looking at all his stuff and began to cry. Being crippled up from sitting on the computer for months trying to sell her art that wasn't selling, she thought to herself, "It would be easier to just get a divorce!" And in her head, she shouted, "I WANT A DIVORCE!" And that is how she chose a name for the shop that would sell all of this vintage stuff.

The Gay Divorcee is a 1934 film starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers. Since she dances and he does not, and since either one of them can talk about any old movie in the world, the name stuck.

And he will continue to bring things home and reminisce about them.

And she fears that this will never end and she will never see her art again..

And, they lived happily ever after..........in separate heads.

Mom moved in and she brought her front loaders with her (washer & dryer). She's 4'9" and packs a powerful punch. That's 4 feet and 9 inches of pure attitude and a big opinion. They both love their BIG TVs, so now I will be getting it from both ends.......in stereo. He loves game shows and she loves cartoons. I might be getting it in surround sound..........they both snore..........I'll just drown out the noise with my little TV with the rest of the Real Housewives...................and be grateful that they both voted for the same candidate in the last election........if they didn't, I would have to pack my bags.
