**Announcement 1-15-12**
This business update is long overdue but has taken special consideration so it was important to me to find the right "recipe" for how to balance work and play into my life. Those of you who have followed my artwork for some time have noticed that the gaps of time off that I take have extended from just a few days off to weeks and weeks at a time. I stretched my own capacity further then I ever intended last year and slowly but surely, working in volume took over my life. This year I am reclaiming who I am meant to be as well as ensuring that I manage my business in a way that compliments my personal and family life.
I know many of my clients and collectors are still hoping to top off their collections with favorite familiar pieces and I want to let you know that a rotation of made to order pieces will still be available, although on a more limited basis than we were accustomed to in the past. *****On the 15th of every month I will activate a selection of made to order pieces and once "x" number of sculptures sell ("x" will depend on my capacity and financial needs at the time) then I will deactivate all the made to orders until the following month when a new rotation of pieces are listed.*****
It is also important for me to keep my work fresh and so ****on the 1st of every month, a batch of ready to ship sculptures will be listed and available in the shop until they sell out.***** I will keep a facebook album updated with the new creations as I move along so that you all know what pieces to expect in the shop come the 1st of each month. https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Midnight-Orange/105314011660
I will still continue to hold eBay auctions for special edition collector's pieces. :)
As always, I want to clarify that this is the plan until the plan changes. It is something new I am trying and I am really looking forward to the results equating a healthy balance of work and life for me. Otherwise, I will continue to improvise as the year moves forward. Lastly, I want to say with utter sincerity and gratitude, THANK YOU for making 2011 the year that it was for me. The tidal wave of volume was something I never dreamed to ride when I opened The Midnight Orange almost 4 years ago, and genuinely I am just so humbled that it became my reality. That would have never been the case without the love, support, and compassion from all of you. Words aren't even enough but if you were standing in front of me you'd see it in my eyes.
Kindest regards,
D. Antonia
Featuring handmade clay angel sculptures as well as many polymer pieces depicting life's journeys including love, grief, joy, and heartache.
I have walked a path through darkness to light and I thank everyone who has joined me in that walk and experienced it with me through my evolving artwork. Through clay, my aim is to capture the spectrum of emotion, from very bright to very raw. My sculptures may make you laugh, cry, reel or heal but ultimately my goal is that they confront feeling in the face and are something tangible and touchable to relate to.

Those who are familiar with my work recall my reputation for doing custom orders and made to order pieces. At this point, due to the high volume I am working in and time time intensive nature of custom orders, I will no longer be taking these pieces on. It has been a privilege to custom make over 350 pieces for clients along the way, but at this point I cannot take on this work and am thankful for the time I was once able to do it. As an artist, I pour myself into each piece that I sculpt and it is my hope that is reflected in my work. I have a creative process and flow which is interrupted when I try to work within someone elses ideas and or visions. Hopefully I have created a piece that speaks specifically to you.
