Hello and welcome to The Uncommon Thread!

I love wool and colours and I have a particular passion for British breeds.

I care deeply about the environment and am aware of the effects that chemicals can have on it, so I make every effort to exhaust all dyes in the dyebath so that no nasties go down the plughole. It is not always possible to exhaust *all* the dye, all the time, especially with certain dyeing techniques, so if you are intending on using your yarn for colourwork or with paler colours it pays to give it a wash first, just to be sure.

I am particularly drawn to minimally processed fibre and yarn, so if your skein smells a little bit sheepy or your fibre has the odd teeny bit of vegetable matter in it that’d be why. But this means that that particular fibre has had less impact on the environment, so we’re all happy.

Feel free to peruse sold items and if you see something you fancy I’d be happy to custom dye it in the base of your choice.

I try to ensure all colours look true on my monitor, but let’s face it, we know they vary, so if you’re unsure about a particular colourway just convo me!
