I have always had an interest in art and creativity. I loved art class in school and sketched a lot in my free time. It wasn't't until my mid to late 20's that I really understood my passion for it. That passion grows each day still. Today, I am borderline obsessed. I like to watch YouTube for new ideas and tutorials. I also look at everything from fine art to whimsical crafts in social media sites. I just can't't get enough, nor work fast enough to satisfy my need to create.

Rewind to 2011 when I opened my Etsy shop The Whispering Willow. My main niche is the tree of life (I love trees!) combined with natural agates and other stones. I started making my suncatchers because i had a huge collection of agate slices and gemstones. At the time, my then fiance was into soldering electrical stuff.. boring lol. I started with taking his copper wire and twisted them into trees. I then took some of my tumbled stones from my collection and attached the trees. I sold a few mini sculptures in my little town of Kansas. The trees were so delicate though, being just soft copper wire.. so I started to lay them onto my agate slices. The first time I held them up with a soldered copper wire tree on them, I knew I had to make more. I started to sell them like crazy on Etsy and at shows. The rest is history and they continue to be my main focus. I have since expanded to include soldered tree of life sculptures and agate tree of life nightlights and necklaces.

After a while I was starting to get burned out on the same old same old. I still wanted to make my catchers and such but I needed more. That's when I opened the floodgates and became infatuated with all types of projects. I started oil painting by watching my childhood love, Bob Ross. I had never really tried it before, I had only sketched with charcoal. Well, needless to say, it was a perfect match. The only thing negative about it is the mess. For that reason I paint more with acrylics now but you can't' beat a good oil painting. I mainly paint landscapes because people come out as alien looking lol. I do paint animals but on rocks (rock art). I paint animals looking as though they're curled up. You got to have really smooth river rocks though. Currently I have a soft spot for polymer clay. I make jewelry, fairy houses (paper clay for those) and even high end art dolls with it. And lastly, I make crafts. All crafts, or at least I want to. Ruffle scarf making is so therapeutic. There have been projects I have done in the past that I stopped but wouldn't mind starting again (leather masks, soap, candy, pyrography)

Alright folks, that's my art career in a nutshell. I hope to do this until I leave this earth. I hope to make it big someday but am more than satisfied where I'm at currently. Thanks for delving into my history. Bye! ;) ♡
