Welcome to our Etsy Site! Thistle Dew Mercantile offers hand-cut & painted scherenschnitte, fraktur, and silhouettes, as well as custom built grain-painted frames!

Special Picture Frame Information:

Each picture frame is priced with glass, framing hardware, and backing paper. Custom frames can be made (up to 24" maximum length or width), in Umber or Cranberry with any graining style, or in Distressed Black. Custom orders can be priced with or without glass & framing hardware.

The framing depth is 1/2" and there is a 3/8" overlap on the edges of the item to be framed. Stretched canvases will need to be mounted with offset retaining clips, which are available upon request.

Standard frame molding is 1 & 1/2" wide, and is used for most of our frames. Slim frame molding is 1" wide, and can be used for frames up to 7". For any frames over 14", we use 2-3" wide molding for stability. Price is based on the molding width and frame size.

Thistle Dew Mercantile's frames look beautiful with all types of artwork, folk art, and needlework, as well as photos. Because each frame is hand-painted, slight variations in color and graining makes each one a unique piece of artwork in and of itself. If multiple frames are needed in the same color tone, it is best to order them at the same time so we can make them match as closely as possible.
