From Corporate Girl to Independent Creative... Life Through a Lens
I spent fifteen years working in a conservative, corporate environment, where, sadly, my creative side didn't get exercised often enough. About six years ago, I started traveling more and, as a result, started taking more photographs. I fell in love with photography as a creative medium and it quickly became my main way of expressing myself. (my father was a photography hobbyist and I'm convinced I inherited some sort of shutterbug gene)
I started my business in 2009 as a way of releasing some of my creative energy. I wasn't sure what to expect but the last three years have been amazing. I get to travel the world with camera in hand... does it get any better? Combine my love of travel with my love of the city of Chicago and all it's retro goodness and I am a happy, happy shutterbug.
I have had the privilege of having my work on HGTV, the local news here in Chicago, west elm blog, Live Creating Yourself, and in room redesigns on HGTV.com.
I was able to say goodbye to that corporate day job at the end of 2011 and I haven't looked back. Read more about it in Etsy's Quit Your Day Job feature here: http://etsy.me/N2lt1B
I am looking forward to many more years in this new life of mine and I am so happy to have the opportunity to share my work with everyone.
If you're in the Chicagoland area, please keep an eye on my blog to find out what events I will be participating in. Stop by and say hi!
Thank you for stopping by!
