Functional Fashion. Our products are hand-made by a small team of dedicated leather artisans. Everything is built with longevity in mind, taking care to make useful, durable, beautiful products that last.

All the leather we use is salvaged from US sources.

All our sandals have a vibram sole stitched to a leather base, which your foot rests on. You're literally one-step up from barefoot and can remain confident that you have a strong sole that will remain so through everything; hiking, river walking, dancing!

Our Vibram and leather soles can be replaced when the sole wears through ( 2-9 years depending on wear). Contact us about any other repair issues and we will be happy to take a look.

Let us know if you have time constraints on your orders and please allow enough time for us to make your sandals, especially for international orders.

Our turnaround time can range from 2 weeks to 4 months depending on the season. June - September part of our team is on the road traveling to music festivals and art fairs and our orders really start piling up! Please ask what our tutrnaround time is before you order.

Welcome

The first Gladiator sandal was made in Greece after my pair of backpacking sandals wore through. I designed the shoe to hold my feet, blister free, love the water, and feel akin to being barefoot. The Maori sandal followed the Gladiator to be even less shoe and more structure for the ease of wearing.

After an apprenticeship with a leather worker in Washington state Tread Light expanded to Bags, Moccasins, Boots, and more! Friends encouragement and creative styles have influenced the path of Tread Light as well as the leather hides themselves which inspire each original piece.

Payment

We prefer payment by PayPal *PLEASE NOTE: you don't have to have a PayPal account to use PayPal.

If you choose to pay by check we will put your item on hold until the check arrives.

If you feel more comfortable giving your credit card information over the phone then on the internet please give us a call!

Shipping

We charge a base shipping fee that includes a free shipping confirmation number. If you would like insurance, signature conformation etc.. Please let us know. Turn around time for our leather creations can range from 2-16 weeks. If you need your item in time for a certain event please check the wait time before you order.

Refunds and Exchanges

In the event of a return we charge a 20% restocking fee. All of our items are 100% exchangable or we will refund you 80% of the sale price. Returns must be sent back to us within 2 weeks of receiving them. We will not issue a refund for sandals or Moccasins that have been worn outside.

Refunds may take 2-3 weeks to process.

In the event of any exchange, the purchaser pays all shipping costs.
