Designing and Creating Stained Glass Works of Art
VFSGlass' Shop Policies
Thank you for visiting the Vischer Ferry Stained Glass shop. Each item you see here is handcrafted using the traditional copper foil technique. This method begins with the creation of a design, followed by the careful selection of fine art glass. The steps which come next - the precise cutting, smoothing, wrapping and soldering of every piece - combine to produce a beautiful and unique work of art. The final cost of each piece is determined by a number of factors including overall dimensions, the type(s) of glass utilized, and the number of pieces. All that having been said, these works are very reasonably priced and are certain to provide enjoyment for generations.
Payment may be made through Paypal or any major credit card, and is due within 24 hours of purchase. Once payment has been received, your purchase will be shipped within two business days. Since Vischer Ferry Stained Glass is located in the state of Texas, it is a requirement that buyers residing in Texas be charged sales tax on their purchase.
Costs for shipping within the continental United States will be calculated at the time of purchase and are based upon size and weight of individual items. For buyers located outside the "Lower 48" of the United States, please contact me prior to purchase in order to determine cost of shipping. All art is insured, and carefully enclosed in bubble wrap and heavy grade cardboard. In addition, panels are protected by plywood sheeting.
Please note that international buyers are responsible for any and all duties and customs charges that may be incurred.
Items will be shipped by either FedEx or UPS within two business days of payment being received. Buyer will be notified by email when shipment is made. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact me right away.
Refunds and Exchanges
Great care is taken to safeguard art in shipment. However, any buyer receiving an item that appears to be damaged should notify the carrier and me immediately. Please do not return damaged goods or discard packing materials, as the carrier may wish to examine the condition of same at the place of delivery. If an item is damaged I will file a damage claim with the carrier.
In addition to the "damaged in shipment" policy outlined above, any buyer dissatisfied with their purchase may return that item - at buyer's expense - within one week of it being received. A full refund of the purchase price - less the cost of shipping - will be provided as long as the item is returned insured and undamaged. Shipping costs are not refundable.
Additional Policies and FAQs
All of the art in the Vischer Ferry Stained Glass store is handcrafted, so no two items will be identical. That, after all, is what makes stained glass so attractive and unique! That being the case, in making your purchase please allow for slight variation from the photos displayed here.
The cost of a custom order will depend upon a number of factors including the variety and color of glass utilized and the number of pieces. The standard "beginning" rate for custom work is $100.00 per square foot.
Special Note: Since these works are created using the copper foil (Tiffany) method, they are not designed to be exposed to the elements or used as an exterior window. They should be displayed indoors, especially in a sunny window where the beauty of ever-changing light dancing through individual pieces can best be enjoyed.
