I want you to know everything you can about these items before you purchase. SO I rate each item on a case by case basis.
I am VERY picky when it comes to inspecting my dresses.
Too many times have I ordered a vintage dress online, only to receive it in lesser condition than was stated by the seller.
Therefore I do my very best to list every issue I can find.
It is my job to give you the best feel for an item without being able to actually FEEL it. 
Hopefully your dress comes in better condition than you expected.

♥.∙:*∞*:∙.♥ Condition Scale ♥.∙:*∞*:∙.♥

MINT and NEAR MINT: True collector’s pieces. No apparent damage to the garment. Appears unworn. No flaws whatsoever. Fabric is Crisp. Tags may or may not be attached. All pieces such as belts are included and in tact.

EXCELLENT: Collector’s pieces. No structural damage to the garment. These items may show signs of normal wear but have been well cared for.
This includes wear from normal laundering care. A dress with the EX rating may still have a few isolated flaws that do not detract from the beauty or quality of the garment. If well cared for, these dresses may easily double their life span.

VERY GOOD: These dresses are just shy of the EX rating. Items in this category are structurally sound and to the untrained eye, may appear excellent in condition. I typically use this rating on dresses that have been well cared for, but also well lived in. For example, cotton dresses that have been heavily laundered causing the fabric to become soft. These also may be dresses that had moderate to extensive repair, and have been returned to this level of quality. These items are perfectly wearable and have MANY years left of wear.

AS IS/REPAIR/STUDY: Any item below a VG rating is sold AS IS. These are usually items that I don’t want to fix on my own. Items with this rating are FINAL SALE. You can expect varying levels of damage, and each item will be described. Often these dresses are perfectly wearable in their current condition, but they fall below the collector’s standard.

Putting a condition rating on vintage clothing is very subjective. I get around this a little bit only dealing in higher quality items.
Most dresses I sell fall into the category of EXCELLENT CONDITION.
I do my best to make necessary repairs so that you can expect a high quality garment. 

If you have any questions about the condition or want any further pictures, PLEASE ask! I'm happy to take and send pics of whatever you need.

And of course….
Unfortunately some things DO go unnoticed. Please remember, the dresses I sell are OLD! Please have realistic expectations and treat your new dress with love and respect. If you are completely dissatisfied, just let me know. We can always work something out. 

◊.:.MEASUREMENTS.:.◊

I measure all items flat. Flat measurements are standard when shopping for vintage clothing.
To convert a flat measurement to a standard measurement is simple: JUST DOUBLE IT!

For example:
A typical flat dress measurement looks like this:
Bust: 17
Waist: 13
Hips: 18
Simply double the number of the Bust, Waist and Hips measurements to get your standard measurement.
Therefore the standard measurement of the aforementioned dress would be:
Bust: 34
Waist: 26
Hips: 36

-:¦:- ANOTHER WAY TO DETERMINE FIT -:¦:-

If you are unsure about your measurements, I suggest you measure a dress of your own using the flat measurement method. Compare your measurements with those of the dress you wish to buy. Pretty soon you will have your flat measurements memorized. Yay!

Don’t forget to allow yourself room to breathe! I will indicate if the fabric has any stretch to it, but it’s best to give yourself a little bit of room to move. 

:¦:--:¦:--:¦: Now that you know how flat measurements work, here is a guide for where the measurements are taken :¦:--:¦:--:¦:

-: BUST: Measured from armpit to armpit across the bust. For uncommon tops such as halter, I measure right below the bust.

-: WAIST: Measured flat and taut at the most slender spot on the garment at the waist.

-: HIPS: Generally measured 5-7 inches below the waist, at the widest part.
Some skirts have a FREE hip measurement, meaning that the skirt opening is free unrestricting regardless of hip size.

-: LENGTH: Measured off the center of the garment, usually from the top collar at the shoulder. In dresses with spaghetti straps, I measure as if the dress were strapless.

-: ARM LENGTH: Measured from the edge of the collar to the bottom of the sleeve. Measured from the top of the sleeve.

-: SWEEP: Refers to the total circumference of the bottom opening of the skirt. I give the total measurement for the sweep, SO DO NOT DOUBLE THE SWEEP MEASUREMENT.

•:¦:• If you need any measurements I have not included, just ask and I'll get it for you right away. •:¦:•

◊◊◊◊.:.CLEANING & PRESSING & STEAMING.:.◊◊◊◊

I clean *most* garments, and this will be indicated in the individual listing.
In the case of fragile garments, such as 1920's silk, I often leave the dress as found, and suggest that the new owner take it to a professional cleaner that specializes in vintage clothing.
I've learned the hard way that I don't trust the dry cleaners in my city with my precious dedicates.

I iron or press garments made of cotton, linen or strong synthetic fabrics.
I steam the more delicate garments as long as steaming is appropriate.

*∞*EVERYTHING ELSE*∞*

I *DO* have pets and I *DO NOT* smoke. I keep pets away from my collection.
I do my best to make sure there isn’t any pet hair on your new purchase.
