Our studio name, Vinnova Lab, comes from the words and concepts of vintage, innovation, nova and laboratory. Feltmaking, an ancient craft, has a profound history that dates back to the early Neolithic cultures. We position Vinnova Lab as a meeting point as well as a melting pot for the historic, contemporary and future aspects of feltmaking.
As a certified handmade felt lecturer and crafter in Taiwan, my indulgence in and devotion to feltmaking lead to the incubation of this Lab. Vinnova is my vehicle that takes me to explore the journey of uncovering any possible new paths toward experimental and non-ideological techniques, applications and fashions. Felt’s own rich history, modern art and creative design are the fuel of Vinnova. Your thoughts, feedback and appreciation are the spark-plug.
