Welcome to Wallabout Studios, located in the scenic Wallabout Industrial Park of Brooklyn, NY. I do a little bit of everything here, creating objects out of metal, wood, and plastics.
I specialize in Kinetic and Robotic Art, bringing motion to the static sculptures of the world. The Spinners series are based on the same concepts as skyhook toys, popular in the eighteenth century, and just as cool today as they were then. It all revolves around the center of gravity.
I believe in creating things with found objects, and try to use as much found material in my work as possible. Living in Brooklyn makes this easier, as the things you find on the street here are pretty amazing. In my foraging adventures I've come across stuffed aligator heads, computers, bicycles, and more raw building materials than I know what to with. I use my findings to create Artwork, custom furniture, and pretty much anything else you can imagine.
If you're interested in commissioning a custom project, drop me a line in my Alchemy section by clicking on the Request Custom Item button on the right. I can make just about anything. I often work with others to help bring their visions to life, and am a regular contributor at Amorphic Robot Works. I enjoy lending my fabrication experience to artists and craftspeople in order that they might better realize their visions. I hope you enjoy the work, and thanks for stopping by. Be well.
