Welcome to Woods Edge Jewelry Studio. Relax for a bit; grab a cup of something yummy and browse through my creations.
You can be assured that when you purchase an item from my store you are getting an Authentic Antique Artisan crafted item. I purchase my antique silverware one piece at a time, never in multiples. I look for unique, interesting silverware that will make perfect one of a kind items. The photos you see of items for sale here are not stock photos, they are photos of the jewelry you will receive when you place an order. The patinas on my pieces range from matte to shiny and everything in between. Each piece is individual and full of history and beauty.
Some sellers of antique sterling spoon rings brush a coating on the finished ring. I do not do this, I believe the patina that is present is lovely and will become more lovely as it ages. I like to present the natural beauty of the antique piece. My pieces are truly made one at a time, no mass production here.
Spring has been very dry here on the edge of the Prairie. Tractors tilling up the dirt and planting corn are creating miniature dust bowls, so my windows are closed!
Trillium are just about done flowering, Jack In The Pulpits are about to flower. Morel Mushrooms are very scarce here this year, not enough moisture. The spring ephemerals in the woods have been so pretty, very dainty and colorful.
Check out all the pretty floral offerings in my spoon rings and pendants. I have some very unique and lovely Art Nouveau floral pieces. New to the studio are bud vases which are magnetized, so they are also refrigerator magnets. I make them from the hollow knife handle of antique silverplate knives. Very cool. What a great way to show off that perfect bloom your little one picked for you.
All of my silverware jewelry has been handcrafted by me from antique silverware. When I"m not in the studio creating my pieces I can usually be found scouring antique shops, shows and estate sales looking for unique silverware that will be just perfect as ring or pendant or possibly a wrist cuff.
As my pieces are all fashioned from antique silverware you will find some will have interesting engravings or dates on the inside or fronts. These to me, truly add to the intrigue of the pieces. It can be fun to ponder who Clara might have been, why was June 1, 1899 a special date or who had a spoon engraved "love always".
It's a very special pleasure for me to turn a piece of your own silverware into a lovely piece of jewelry to be worn and cherished. I'm very happy to do commission pieces at your request.
