WrapturebyInese's Shop Announcement

Bespoke and ready to wear sweaters for women and men, wraps, shrugs, tunics, all lovingly knit on a hand loom by Inese, blending and creating new colors by using 3 or more yarns together. I hand crochet all the seams and use two tiny chic beads to add my signature Inese label. I LOVE making things and this shop is a home for all my creations. These are my sketches: knit for you to stay warm inside and out. Each wrap, shrug, sweater is as unique as the individual who possesses it. Wrapture is the perfect gift for giving and receiving.

My shop started with my one of a kind kid mohair mobius strip wraps that I design and knit myself. They can be worn as a shoulder shrug, wrapped twice as a shawl, or pulled up as a head scarf / neck warmer. I always knit 2 strands of the softest warmest kid mohair yarn together, adding a strand or two of silk thread to make the colors sparkle and come alive.

Except for the new fingerless mittens (the story on that to follow) everything in my shop is hand loomed, knit on hooks, not needles, by me. I crochet all the seams, sew in all the labels, take all the photos, not to mention that I'm in most of the photos too. People keep telling me to get someone else to do all my knitting but then I would end up being an office manager, and someone else would get to do the fun part. I would rather stay a small business, doing what I love. This keeps my work exclusive. This is why each sleeve, front and back are all different. Its more fun for me to let my creativity run loose, and to see what happens.

As for the new fingerless mittens, Latvia is full of women, elderly, retired, not so old, but otherwise unemployed who hand knit for their income. I always dreamed of helping some of them and then one such amazing artisan came to me, or rather her daughter did. Baiba knits fingerless mittens in colors to match or rival mine, she is a true artist, so I'm helping her out and nudging her creativity. Its a perfect match.

100% of my new yarns are picked from the "RECYCLE" bins. They are factory cast offs that are anything a bit off standard color, a wee bit thicker, thinner, slubby, nubby. Basically all the yarn that has too much character to be sold to the generic masses and that is why WE LOVE IT!
