--- Welcome to Terra Rhapsody---
I am passionate about creating miniatures and jewellery. I began making my own jewellery years ago when I began to dislike the samey feel of all of the cheap jewellery in mainstream shops. I wanted something more, so I began making my own jewellery. I had a lot of failures on the way, but I learned quickly from my mistakes. After receiving compliments from friends about the jewellery I had made for myself, I began selling it online to share my creations with other people.

When I began, I swore I would never make anything I wouldn't wear or use myself. Although this may be a hindrance when other people do not share my tastes, I can be happy in the knowledge that my work is my own unique style, and that I'm not changing it to suit what other people are selling or what fashion says I should do. Much of my jewellery has incorporated miniatures and tiny scenes that I now make into full dioramas and dollshouse accessories.

---My Environmental Policy---
The environment is high on my list of priorities, so is naturally at the top of my policies too. Terra Rhapsody approaches the environment in a conscious manner. I am aim to reduce, re-use and recycle in all aspects of the business (and life!) from offcuts of paper being used for notepaper, turning lights and equipment off when not in use to including recycled, upcycled and vintage materials in my designs.
Terra Rhapsody minimises the use of single-use plastics, but some plastic is unavoidable in packing materials (e.g. bubblewrap, labels, tape) as no comparable eco alternatives have been found to replace them. However, bubblewrap and plastic bags used for packaging have been recycled from packaging in which my materials arrived, so it is clean and safe to reuse. This minimises any additional plastic being added into the system. Terra Rhapsody cares about quality too, preferring a superior quality where it is needed most. I do not wish for substandard packaging materials to adversely affect my products while travelling to their destinations.
Some of us try our best to be eco and take as little from the earth as we can, but it is hard to do it in a sometimes wasteful society with single-use plastics. But what if you gave something back? Terra Rhapsody promises to plant a tree for every 30 orders received, so when you buy from Terra Rhapsody, you are helping give back to the planet when it needs it the most. Once 30 orders have been received, a dedicated tree will be purchased within the national forest (nationalforest.org) and a certificate shared on my social media accounts. I usually dedicate oak trees, as they are meant to be the most effective at removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere.

Other things Terra Rhapsody does to help the environment:
- Use of recycled materials in my jewellery miniatures and gifts
- Use of natural materials in my jewellery, minatures and gifts
- Use of recycled plastic packaging such as plastic bags and bubblewrap
- Use of renewable fuels at the Terra Rhapsody HQ
- Walking instead of taking the car
- Making paper offcuts into notebooks
- Turning off lights and equipment that are not in use
- Recycling business waste responsibly
- Preference to purchasing items with zero or minimal packaging
- Buying materials locally/from UK where possible
- Buying in bulk to reduce packaging and journeys

I pride myself on excellent customer service and quality, gained over a number of years experience in different industries.

My objectives, besides creating jewellery that I love, are:
- Treat all customers and potential customers with respect and patience
- Complete all orders as quickly as possible, while not sacrificing quality
- Ensure each product is made to the highest possible quality, checking each piece before it is sent to a customer
- Treat all customers equally and fairly, ensuring that all customers will be given the same service and the same deals as others
- Ensure orders are completed to the specifications of the customer, and where any orders cannot be made to specification, the customer is immediately notified
- Replacing or refunding items that have not been received damaged or have fallen below the expected standard
- Treating all information with confidentiality

Payment

--- How to pay ---
My shop accepts paypal payment, as well as direct card payment through the Etsy direct checkout.
Buyers in the UK also have the option of a personal cheque, but this will mean that the cheque has to clear before the item is dispatched. If you would like to pay with a personal cheque, please let me know.

--- When to pay ---
When you have bought an item, payment is required at the time of checkout. Items will not be sent out until payment is received. If you are unable to purchase something, but would like something reserved, please contact me to request the reservation. This will be subject to availability, and items will be reserved from a period of 1 month.

--- International sales ---
When selling internationally, I am as reasonable as possible with shipping costs. The mail handler I use is the Royal Mail, and although their prices are reasonable for some services, services that have tracking are often a lot more expensive, so please be aware of this when purchasing high value or high priority items. Standard shipping costs apply to most listings in my shop, except where noted otherwise.

Internationally shipped items are sometimes liable to tax fees, duty fees and administration charges in some countries for items over a certain value. These fees and charges are not included within the shipping costs noted on each listing and are the responsibility of the customer to pay. I try to be as accurate as possible when filling in customs forms, but should any tax charges, duty charges or administration charges associated with such charges be requested from your local authorities, these are the responsibility of the customer only, and Terra Rhapsody cannot be held responsible for these charges or their payment. Always check local customs laws and policies before purchasing items from abroad.

--- Customer Fairness Policy ---
While I always welcome messages regarding my work, my business aim is to give fairness to all customers by not discounting some customers purely because they have requested a discount. I wish to treat all customers equally, and I must note that I am uncomfortable with offering discounts to some and not to others.
I find it upsetting and frustrating as a buyer when I hear someone got a discount because they asked for one, and I believe that a business ethic should seek fairness for all, and not reward those who ask above those who do not. Thank you for your understanding.
If this is a policy you dislike after requesting a discount, please put yourself in the shoes of someone that has found out they have paid full price for an item when someone else has gotten a discount because they asked for one. However, you can get a discount when my shop runs an annual sale around Thanksgiving, black Friday and cyber Monday.

Shipping

--- Shipping ---
All items are shipped as soon as possible, but all listings will note their own dispatch time. This is usually next day dispatch, but some orders will take longer to pack and dispatch, such as custom/made-to-order designs or terrarium kits. I am able to ship 6 days a week in most cases, excluding Sundays and bank holidays when it is not possible to send mail.
I am in the UK, so Royal Mail are used to send out all packages.
All items can be shipped anywhere around the world, but please note that if you live in Australia and purchase a vial necklace containing soil or plants (or other items that are screened by border control) that you will be responsible for any fees incurred.

--- Standard shipping fees ---
Most listings will have standard shipping fees, however, listings will note if the item has priority or tracked shipping. If you wish to upgrade your shipping to a priority service, please let me know so that I can amend the shipping charges. This can be done before sale on etsy or after sale by sending an additional paypal invoice for a shipping upgrade.
Etsy has recently changed their policies to also allow shipping upgrades as a separate listing, so this can be done for you to add tracked shipping to your order.

--- Shipping address ---
If you would like an item to be shipped to an address other than your own, please ensure this address is the one added to your etsy order. If this differs to your paypal address, I will contact you to confirm the address you would like it sent to. Please note this address must match your paypal address, as otherwise, seller protection is not valid, and your item will not be sent and your item can either be re-ordered or refunded.

--- Sending gifts to their recipient ---
All items are available to ship straight to a gift recipient, so if you wish to use this service, please ask for the receipt/invoice can be left out of the package.

--- Shipping and packaging prices ---
Shipping costs incorporate the cost to send the item as well as the packaging. All items come with a padded giftbox which is wrapped in tissue paper and sent inside a padded envelope. This packaging method has not failed me yet!

Additional policies and FAQs

--- Custom item lead times ---
If you have ordered a custom order, please check how long it will be before the item is made and shipped. If you have ordered something that requires clay firing, or paint/adhesive drying, it is unlikely that the item can be sent out quickly. To avoid disappointment, order in advance and ask for a date when the item will be dispatched. If you need an item within a short time-scale, please mention a deadline when ordering, as this can then be incorporated into the price of the item.

--- Additional charges for customised items ---
Please note that some custom orders may incur an extra £7 charge to cover extra time spent on the design and photography to check the item is. This is not applicable for items such as the customised message in a bottle (as the cost of customisation has already been applied), and is only applicable for detailed orders not already available in my shop in some form.
For large custom orders, a deposit of at least 20% of the total cost may be requested, or full payment may be required before work on the order can begin. These requests will be disclosed immediately wherever they may be applicable.

--- Custom item policy ---
Custom or reserved listings will be added to Etsy when required. Listings on Etsy expire after 4 months, and if they are not purchased during this time, they will not be re-listed. If you've requested a custom item and decide you do not want it, it will be added to Etsy for general sale. This will also be the case with any custom items that are not purchased within 4 months of listing. Custom items are listed through Etsy's new custom product system.

--- Wholesale Policy ---
Wholesale prices begin when orders over 40 units are purchased together. Further reductions will come into effect when over 100 units are purchased at one time. Shipping reductions are also available when purchasing wholesale lots, as shipping costs will be reduced. Please ask for wholesale costs and shipping costs before requesting a wholesale custom listing.
