With it’s unconventional elegance aempersand/ addresses those young cosmopolitan men and women that appreciate wearability. The Scandinavian influence is obvious in the designs – Anna-Magdalena Wendt worked under Henrik Vibskov in Denmark – but for her that’s no reason to be narrowed down to the label of the “hip” Nordic design.
The collections by aempersand/ are more than ghostlights on the ever rotating fashion carroussel. They make a statement through their purism and clarity in an unobtrusive manner. Rather than by exaggeration or provocation aempersand/ ‘s profile is defined by correct fit, high quality material and creative transformation of a clear idea of fashion.
Therefore you won’t find pattern mixes or flashy shades in aempersand/ designs. The winter collection 2011/12 is dominated by coolish shades such as light lilac, dark shades of blue, light grey or classic black.
The pieces never appear dull or unsophisticated – the cuts see to that easily, as they counterpoint the colours clarity and the designs functionality.
Furthermore, small details such as a draped collar or the geometrical layout of the seams give every piece its own uniqueness.
From the first sketch to the final button – at aempersand/ every piece is handmade in the designers own workshop
As a result Anna-Magdalena Wendt’s work promises not only interesting fashion and high quality, but overall - scarcity value.
