Handbound books, journals, sketchbooks, photo albums, notebooks, chapbooks and more....
My hand bound journals and sketchbooks are made very carefully, one at a time, to insure they hold well to daily use, and to stand the test of time. No two journals are exactly the same, each taking on a personality all its own. It is my hope that each journal will become a treasure to pass from generation to generation.
The steps used to create these journals include century old techniques and tools such as an awl, ruler, bone folder, needle, thread, and a metal tearing bar. When creating a book, I limit my signatures (groupings of pages) to five sleeves (single sheets). This takes more time to complete, however, creates a stronger, more durable binding, and a better quality book.
