Alexandra Amaro Global Fusion Jewelry

Unique, refined jewelry inspired by all the places I have called home over the years: Mozambique, Brazil and New Mexico.

Many of my pieces include centuries-old trade beads found at Mozambique Island in Southern Africa. Originally made in Europe and India, these glass and gemstone beads were used as currency by traders and, after multiple shipwrecks off the coast over the years, now wash up on Mozambique Island's beaches.

I purchase the trade beads directly from the boys who find them in the sand, then mix them with semi-precious gemstones, pearls, hardwoods and sterling silver in my studio. Each bead is unique, each piece a bit of history of this beautiful part of the world.
