When I was four years old my Grandmother (we called her Nani) gave me a box of sparkling rhinestone costume jewelry. My Grandfather owned a mens clothing store in downtown Portland, Oregon from 1938-1978. When Nani would pass through Lipman Wolfe and Co. the sales girls would say, "Oh, Mrs. Bolger, you simply MUST have this blue rhinestone bracelet by Weiss." Despite the fact that a two inch wide bracelet was far too overwhelming for her Wallis Simpson, Duchess of Windsor style she would buy these fanciful gems and leave them in her jewel box, hardly worn and awaiting my arrival.

Vintage costume jewelry has always been my passion and as I grew up fashion, American history and attention to detail were added to the mix.

I am now a seamstress specializing in historic restoration in addition to being a collector of vintage clothing, jewelry and accessories for the past three decades. Buying and selling vintage and antique goods has been how I have made my living since 1998. In 2004 I opened AlexSandra's Vintage Emporium on Interstate Avenue in Portland, Oregon in a small 1924 bungalow home containing a collection of vintage finery from 1968 and before.

The vintage clothing offered here has been spotted, laundered and repaired when needed. I am in the process of moving 1500 square feet of ladies vintage inventory from my brick & mortar onto the magical internets. Vintage costume jewelry, hats, purses, clothing, fabric and sewing bits and bobs are being unleashed daily here on Etsy.

I am a member of the Etsy Vintage Team which assures you that I have met the high standards of their organization and you can shop here with confidence.
