If inspiration hadn't been found on the bathroom floor of a fast food pit stop during a road trip through rural Ohio this summer, I would be getting more rest than I have been for the past few months. However, when inspiration calls, much like nature, it is best to answer. So when the mass-manufactured tiles beneath my feet at a Wendy's restroom in Chillicothe, Ohio grabbed my attention I asked myself "why?" and then I asked myself "how?" This curiosity lead me to a pattern that I have been impressing onto anything that fails to resist me. The result of this is a line of work that I affectionately call the Frankenbakers.
