When I was a kid I used to spend four to five months out of the year wearing a bathing suit. Buying a bathing suit before the summer was a big deal to me. Suit had to be comfortable and I was supposed to be able to swim safely in it (without worrying that it was going to fall off when diving in the sea). It had to dry fast in the sun (since I never changed suits when I was on the beach) and it had to be cool looking.
When I moved to the US to go to school, I had trouble finding suits like that. They were either too thick, or too uncomfortable or not cool looking (unless I wanted to spend more than $150). Therefore, every summer I would go home unprepared. When I would arrive home, I would have to spend couple of precious days of my vacation hunting for the bathing suit.
Few years ago I decided to make myself a bathing suit. It was really badly made using zig-zag stitch on my cheap machine. I got a lot of compliments on it. After that I decided to make more. In 2004 I even entered a very important fashion competition where I got the award for the best beachwear collection. This encouraged me to continue making swimwear.
Here you will find my whimsical and colorful collection of bikinis. Color inspiration for these swimsuits was found on the hot beaches of the Adriatic coast.
