Isabella lives in the Orange County - Los Angeles area. She is originally from the Chicago area. Isabella attended Columbia College Chicago for two years and studied painting and photography there. After that, she moved to Orange County and finished her undergrad BFA in Studio Art at Chapman University in Orange, California in 2008. Isabella is now finishing up a BA in Art History at the same university writing a thesis on net.art and will graduate in May 2011.
Along with painting and photography, Isabella is also greatly interested in architecture.
In her senior show, Isabella used images from magazines to make cartoons by tracing them and filling the shapes with color. The cartoons and dialogue depicted wealthy people who had superficial and fake lifestyles. The settings portrayed Miami architecture, but it actually reflected normal Orange County societal life. All the frames and posters in the show happened at the same time on one Saturday afternoon. Hence, "Saturday Afternoon" became the title.
Isabella has also made quilts, taken countless photographs and made numerous printmaking editions during her time in college. The paintings that are displayed on the website were painted at different times and are not related in subject matter yet they are related by bright, vibrant color. The colors and shapes come from within her and reflect her inner world.
