I am currently working on my TSUMAMI KANZASHI BOOK, partially as a memorial for my Tsumami Kanzashi master. This book will be very remarkable for introducing primarily "the authentic Tsumami Kanzashi" as well as the modern Kanzashi and its artisan's field focusing on how important it is for Japanese to preserve our culture.

I was PROFESSIONALLY TRAINED by one of ONLY 5 acknowledged Tsumami Kanzashi artisans in Japan through very special network while NONE of them are accepting apprentice today.

[WHY CHOOSE ATELIER KANAWA?:THE *AUTHENTIC* TSUMAMI KANZASHI ARTISAN]
Tsumami Kanzashi is the NATIONAL DESIGNATED TRADITIONAL HANDCRAFT which has been carried by REFINED SKILLFULL ARTISANS with PROFOUND UNDERSTANDINGS of Japanese culture, history, the beauty of Japanese seasons / Nature, its materials, and most importantly, the responsibility of carrying this art for the future generations.

Please be aware of immitation Tsumami Kanzashi made in China which have no label indication, except at the high class Japanese department stores. They appear different from the authentic ones by the combinations of the flowers and the colors.
Also, please be aware of IMMITATION TSUMAMI KANZASHI MADE BY HOBBY CRAFTERS ONLINE WHO WERE NEVER TRAINED, though some say that they use the traditional technique. According to my network with artisans in Japan, there is no foreigners who were professionally trained and permitted to sell. When somebody like them who lack the professional courtesy and humble manner name their piece "Tsumami Kanzashi" and sell at cheep price based on their sole decision, it destroys the entire market since the majority of customers do not have the eyes to compare the real quality and tend to just go to the cheep ones.

As my master says, only Japanese who fully grew up in Japanese environment and climate can achieve those expertise & *TRUE Japanese spirit* to carry this art, after going through hard professional trainings.
I hope you can understand this deep issue and see the big picture for a long term and become a *true* supporter of authentic artisans (^-^) Thank you very much !

Also, please first LEARN the appropriate Japanese manners and how the artisan's field works before stepping in to ask me to introduce artisans in Japan "for you to be trained". When entering Japanese culture, you must RESPECT our tradition and the professional courtesy which is the MOST IMPORTANT SPIRIT that is needed to achieve ANY JAPANESE CULTURE.
