Jewelry and History

I started making jewelry in college (Humboldt State) out of beach glass that I found while skin diving in Fort Bragg, Ca. I did little craft shows and had fun. I moved to new Orleans after going to Mardi Gras (and having more fun) with the intention of working on oil rigs for big money. Turned out it was little money and not fun. Began selling my handmade jewelry at the French Market Place and decided that jewelry was a better way to make money. After a year I moved back to Hermosa Beach, California and worked at a jewelry manufacturing company for a few years, then in two different jewelry stores before opening my own jewelry store, Dancing Panda Jewelry in 1981. After 8 years, one marriage, two kids and one hold up we decided to move to Seattle, Washington. Since then I have done International Gem and Jewelry Shows, antique shows, the Tucson Gem Show, Portland Saturday Market, and now etsy for the last 4 years. I have always loved history so I started using ancient coins in my jewelry and while trying to have them authenticated I met David Sear, one of the worlds leading authorities and authors on ancient coins. We became friends and would authenticate my coins for me which led to Ancient Coin Jewelry, my business for over 20 years. Now on etsy I still sell ancients along with sterling silver cameos and some other handmade designs.
