Birdartist's Shop Announcement

Welcome!

HUMMINGBIRD FEEDERS: After the publicity I received from the article in Birds & Blooms, my feeders immediately sold out. I have continued to make and post more as often as I can, but it is hard to keep up as they sell very quickly! If you don't see any currently available, you may want to browse through my previously sold items. You will find many feeders there in many shapes and colors. If you find any that interest you, feel free to contact me and I can custom make them for you. Thanks, everyone, for your interest!

All of my hummingbird feeders are modeled in Polymer clay to resemble actual flowers that are used by hummingbirds. Each one is individually crafted to fit snugly into its individual bottle for a tight, leak resistant seal. All are functional works of art used readily by hummingbirds. Just pull the flower from the bottle, fill the bottle with 1 part white sugar to 4 parts water. Hang in your garden, and let the fun begin!

BIRD HOUSES:

My bird houses are of high fire stoneware clay, hand thrown and sculpted, each with a specially designed removable roof for cleaning. All have dimensions suitable for their intended species. The clapboard house has a lot of charm, if I say so myself! Bird houses can be placed out at any time of the year. Although the breeding season is over in North America, placing a house outside in the fall and winter will give the birds a chance to become accustomed to it. In cold winter areas, a bird house can provide shelter, and when spring of 2010 arrives, the birds will be ready to move in.

CERAMICS:

I also have some bird related ceramics, including a lovely porcelain owl pitcher, and a set of very light, graceful cups with curlew heads carved above the handles. There were originally 5, but we are down to 2.
