**********2/1/12******SHIPPING DELAYS********** For the next couple of months, I will only be able to ship out purchases twice a week, instead of every day as I usually do.
I manage a small tax preparation office & work 50-60 hours a week during tax season, which doesn't leave me much time (or energy) for my online business. The spirit is willing, but the body needs sleep *lol*

***** 12/20/11 ***** We are BACK! Had a wonderful cruise through the Panama Canal, with lots of excitement & drama at sea. There was a "hit & run" onboard the first day during the safety muster drill, when a disabled person in a motorized scooter knocked down an 87-year old man, ran him over & then KEPT ON GOING! Phil, the innocent victim suffered a brokern leg & hip, ended up in ICU, and had to be air-lifted to Aruba. How AWFUL!
The weather was dismal, lots of rain, but that didn't stop us from enjoying port stops in Aruba, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica and Grand Cayman. We swam with the dolphins in Grand Cayman, and I tried to smuggle one home, but Customs wouldn't have any part of it.
Then, our final evening, more drama as we rescued a small boat in distress - it contained 16 Cuban refugees that we had to turn over to the U.S. Coast Guard. VERY exciting!
Ate too much, drank too much, laughed too much (NEVER!) - all in all, a wonderful time! We got home around 2am this morning, so back to work for me! I'll be replying to all messages & shipping out orders in a frenzy for the next few days to get caught up.

8/8/11 *****SHIPPING UPDATE - Orders received before 11:00am PST (that's California time to me) will be shipped the same day; orders received after 11:00am will go out the next day...except on Sundays, when it doesn't matter anyways because our Post Office is closed*****
8/3/11 ***** MARKET UPDATE - It's completely INSANE out there!!! My cost to buy rooster feathers has skyrocketed in the past 6 weeks. Quality grizzly feathers are becoming almost extinct - it takes over TWO YEARS for the roosters to grow those long feathers and there won't be any more until 2012 - and even prices for solid colored feathers has gone through the roof.
I used to pay about $300 for a hackle (hide) that would yield 100-150 usable feathers. That was bad enough, considering it retailed for about $40 in the fly shops 6 months ago. But now, those same hides are selling for $1000-1200 - Crazy!
I still have a strong supply of hackle, and am trying to keep my prices level. But, unless I find a treasure trove of quality replacements at decent prices, I do expect to have to increase prices in the next month or so.

6/28/11 **********HOLIDAY MAIL DELAYS**********
Just a reminder that Monday, July 4th, the Post Office will be closed. If the recent Memorial Day weekend was any indication, we are expecting the mail times to slow down a little. We will continue to do our part here & get your order to the Post Office within 48 hours (usually sooner than that) of payment, but if they're on holiday, that's not going to make much of a difference.
Also, the BEST thing you can do to ensure the quickest possible mail delivery is to ensure that your Etsy address & your PayPal address are both correct, and are both the SAME. If we notice a difference, and have to pull your order out of the processing stream to contact you, that will create a delay.
