Welcome to my shop..I like very organic objects or things that have a timeless quality that appeal to the collective memory.. my pieces are hand thrown on the wheel in my studio...with stoneware or a mid-fire porcelain clay. I used several different clays, white, buff, red. It is then put back on the wheel for phase two, trimming, dried for a week or so and then bisque fired at 1950 degrees. Phase three is my decorating process.phase four, brushed with three coats of FOOD SAFE glaze ( except on purely decorative art pieces). After drying, I put everything back in the kiln for the second firing at 2200 degrees for about twelve hours. No piece is ever exactly the same because I don't enjoy doing "production pottery", also because the fire does whatever it does...that's the magic part, the alchemy and the beauty of it. Often, you get a few wonderful pieces and a bunch of so-so...I show you only my best pieces, the pieces I am thrilled with and love. Although I strive for perfection, I consider beauty, charm and uniqueness far more rewarding and important...
