Stanton Design- Hand Dyed Silk Scarves

Because I make small batches of scarves, my stock of colors is always different, changing with the seasons. I start with the silk and rayon devore fabric in pure white and dye them with Procion dyes. Then I process the scarf so that they are color & lightfast. The design is etched in the fabric with a mild acid that "devours" the shimmering satin and leaves the chiffon background. All of the hems are hand rolled.
You can hand wash your scarf in cool water with your favorite shampoo (silk is a natural fiber, just like your hair!) & add conditioner to return the drape of your scarf.
