In this line of work i seek to marry my interest in photography and painting. All the pieces start with one of my images which I try to push it out of its photographic constrains by abstracting shapes and lines and incorporating the use of recycled material such as cardboard, metal, paper and plastic. When creating these pieces i like to play with the idea of repetition, by using the same photograph again and again, and with the idea of individuality by relying on the materials i use and attach to the painting to provide an element of singularity and individuality. Thus, each piece is both an original and a reproduction. They are originals in that no two of them look exactly the same as with a painting, but they are a reproduction in that I use the same photograph again to create a new version of such piece.
