*** NOTICE: As I am sure you have all heard, a 7.0 earthquake hit Haiti on Tuesday, January 11, devestating the country. From today (1/12/10) to February 20, 100% of all proceeds from the sale of any item in my shop will be donated directly to the Doctors Without Borders Haitian Relief Fund. So shop around, buy yourself a treat and help me send a little help to the relief workers in Haiti.

Welcome to Brooklyn Tart Bakery! All of the baked goods you see here are made in my tiny Brooklyn Kitchen with love, creativity and only the finest ingredients. I never, NEVER use chemical preservatives, fake flavorings or any other sort of icky fillers so often found in baked goods.

If you prefer the use of organic ingredients send me a message and it can be arranged for an additional charge (that stuff isn't cheap you know!) :)

I can also do special orders/requests...if you can think it up, I can probably bake it!

DISCLAIMER: All of these items are baked in my home kitchen. While I make every effort to contain and separate all ingredients, and I clean in an almost maniacal fashion, I do work with nuts in my home (insert your joke here) and as such cannot fully guarantee that some small particle of peanut or almond has not reached the very edge of a cookie. While no one has ever had a reaction from one of my items I feel it needs to be mentioned. Please take note if you have severe nut allergies.

I always list every ingredient in all of my baked goods. Please, please, please (I can't stress this enough...PLEASE) read these lists if you have any food allergies at all.

Also most if not all of my baked goods contain egg and/or dairy products. These ingredients are handled with the extreme care and are always fully cooked. I do not ship any items with partially or undercooked egg and/or dairy products and this includes cookie dough & meringues ...so don't ask!

Having said the above I do not accept responsibility for reactions to my baked goods. If you have any questions or concerns at all about an item please speak with me PRIOR to purchasing. I can alter just about any recipe for you but I need to know in advance. I may not remember to ask you about allergies and I don't want to be responsible for you ending up in the hospital with a reaction to my almond toffee when you have a severe almond allergy!
