Hello and welcome to our shop!

burnt.normal is Lee and Yolande Clark, and buddha-boy Horus. Our passion is firing our 27 foot long anagama kiln in the middle of the backwoods of New Brunswick. Lee built the first incarnation of the kiln in 1998, and we just finished a drastic renovation that involved tearing down the back chamber and rebuilding the chimney. We fire the anagama twice a year for 6-10 days. Every piece is loaded into the kiln as bare clay, free of chemical glaze. The fire must be stoked every 3-6 minutes for the entire duration of the firing. The result is pottery with rare and beautiful natural ash glaze landscapes of colour and texture. We do super fun and lovely elecrtric glaze work, too, both functional and sculptural. All of our work is 100% food safe, microwave safe, and dishwasher safe too (unless specified), and suitable for daily use.
