Hi, my name is Catherine Reece. All of my work is individually hand-drawn and made by me, featuring whimsical designs, bright colors with an insect bird and or garden theme. I do all my work out of my home studio with my husband Scott.
I grew up in the foothills of southern California in the little town of Sierra Madre. I had always had an interest in art and took to drawing at an early age.
At my local community college, I found myself completely absorbed in art classes. One of which was a ceramics class taught by Phil Cornelius, which I enjoyed very much.
Fast forward a few years, I got married and was working as a floral designer when the pottery bug bit once again. My creativity was reenergized when I started taking pottery classes in an intimate local studio. Before I knew it I had a surplus of pottery so, I decided to get involved in a local art fair with two other ceramic artists. I did very well. Not long after, my husband Scott and I turned pottery making into a business. We moved to northern California to devote our energy to working in clay full time, selling all over California, Arizona and Washington as well as beginning our new adventure into the world of Etsy.
My hope is that the drawings and the personalities of my bird friends and insects bring a smile to everyone who has a piece of my pottery.
