Handmade Jewelry and Ornament accentuating the organic

copperweaver's Shop Announcement

Welcome to the shop.

Making jewelry, ornament with my hands has been a life long process of love and exploration for me.

I work in a variety of materials including copper, sterling silver, organic vines, barks, and fibers, minerals, rocks and more....

Efficient use of materials and resources is an important theme that is integral to my work. I gravitate toward process-oriented means of creative expression, be it stripping the plastic off of copper wire or peeling the bark of honeysuckle vines, to weaving them into vessels or crowns; every aspect of the process inspires my creative expressions. Scavenging and wild-crafting materials is another important aspect of my creative process.

The salvaged, re-used materials I use in my work include copper electrical wire, guitar strings, bicycle cables, industrial plastic shipping straps and more. Re-using these materials keeps them out of the waste stream and gives them new life as jewelry, ornament, and sculpture.

I also work with sterling silver that I purchase from a supplier.

I acquire rocks and minerals from a variety of sources. I also collect, cut, and polish rocks and semi-precious gems and incorporate them into my wire wrapped jewelry.

I welcome all questions and comments.

Thank you for visiting my store.
