Obligatory soapbox speech: My hand-painted pillows are actually hand-painted, one at a time. By me. They are not reproductions of a hand-painted original that is mechanically reprinted and called "hand-painted". ('Cause that ain't; it's machine-printed.) I'm just sayin' . . .

Hello, Friend. Here at Crabby Chris's™ shop you will find coastal Christmas items all year around. If you have the plan-ahead gene in your DNA, it's a good idea to order your holiday stuff way before everyone else. As everything in the shop is personally handcrafted by me, there are a finite amount of work that can be accomplished in a given time frame.

People ask if I ever sleep. Yes, almost every day! Ideas enter my mind during both waking and sleeping hours and I am compelled to bring them into existence. In my little shop you will find images of things I love, put together using processes I love -- observing, researching, sketching, painting, sewing, photographing, writing. Living on an island in the beautiful Pacific Northwest U.S., I am inspired by the natural wonders around me and motivated by a desire to share them with others. Ask my kids how many times I have run around the house hollaring, "Look at the mountains! Just look at those mountains! Will you look at those mountains?"

Materials and supplies are all sourced within the U.S. and the pillows are created from start to finish in the United States of America. Yay!

In 2010 I began offering my work worldwide, and it's been a wonderful experience! Thank you, dear customers, for your acceptance and support. Here at CRABBY CHRIS™ you will find handcrafted, functional, attractive items of the crab, by the crab, and for the crab in all of us. Crabby Chris™ is the largest micromanufacturer of handpainted indoor-outdoor pillows on Camano Island, Washington, where Dungeness crab outnumber humans by about 11 to 3. Some of the crab's associates as well as other motifs and beautiful lifeforms from his environment have been included in the collection, plus a few ecclectic goodies thrown into the mix. Because Crabby Chris™ loves lots of things.

Please shop to your heart's delight and let us know if you find something that tickles your fancy. (Your fancy is ticklish, isn't it?). If you want two or more of something and the listing indicates only one in stock, don't worry -- I can make any quantity. Just send a note and I'll update the listing for you!

All pillows are available without the stitched flange around the perimeter. For those of us who like to "chop" our throw pillows, only a knife edge will do. Just indicate your knife edge request in "Note from Buyer" when you order.

I ship smaller orders in recycled content (and recyclable) strong polypropylene mailing envelopes, and larger orders in 100% recycled corrugated boxes. Please reuse whenever possible, then recycle. I do not enclose any transaction documents in the parcels, so gifts can be shipped directly to recipients without concern about disclosing financial information.

Crabby Chris™ has learned by experience that it is a good practice to ship PILLOW COVERS ONLY to Europe and Australia (that means WITHOUT THE FIBERFILL INSERTS) to keep it affordable.

If the Royal Mail decides to hack into your package to inspect it, they pass the costs of said inspection on to you. These charges could end up exceeding the cost of the product. It is highly recommended that European customers plan on obtaining a pillow stuffer locally. Convo me if you have any questions.
