My prices include sales tax, which is almost 10% in San Francisco.
I use almost 100% "recycled" yarn in my crocheting. This means that the yarn is either from used clothing I've taken apart or purchased secondhand. Using recycled yarn keeps reusable materials from ending their lives in the landfill, and it decreases the demand for new, chemically dyed yarns. It's one small way that I help the planet out a bit.
