Hand-made Gourd Masks and More

My gourds are all hand-crafted. They come from a gourd farm south of Phoenix, AZ and other West Coast farms where they have been dried for many months. After selecting Gourds With Character, I clean and cut them myself (many hours of dirty work!). Most of my gourds are colored with leather dye that I mix myself... it tones the gourd to the color I want and brings out their unique characteristics. Various embellishments are added, ranging from paint, to horse hair, to turquoise, to feathers, to whatever I have lying around that looks good. The gourds are all one- of- a- kind... no two come out the same!
