domesticbias' Shop Announcement

Domestic Bias is a family craft business in Portland, Oregon specializing in handmade books, purses, and aprons using reclaimed materials. You may find them at the Portland Saturday Market or at a craft show in your neighborhood.

Wendy and Jaime have merged our businesses and are opening shop as a mother and daughter duo offering many fun and fabulous wares!! Crafting has been a staple of our family life. We currently live in the same house so the more we found ourselves collaborating on products, working alongside one another and carpooling to Saturday Market we thought - it's always better when we're together - and this 2010 merger was born!

Who we are and what we make...
THE MOM - Wendy takes great care and delight in sewing her beautiful reversible tote bags, 8 fabric reversible sling purses, fully reversible full and half aprons, adorable reversible children's aprons and roomy nursing covers. Often you will find her sewing away as a "Queen" while indulging her granddaughters in a make believe princess game or stopping to snuggle and play with one or more of her 8 little grandchildren playing at her feet.

THE DAUGHTER - Most of the cutting, folding, designing and assembling of the 5 styles of books you find here is done in the late hours of the night or wee hours of the morning when everyone sleeps. By day, busy homeschooling mama Jaime helps Wendy with fabric choices and provides five of the amazing little people for her to be distracted by!

We love what we do and look forward to sharing our goodies and the joy we get making them together with you!
